RMLApril 21
A crown of lemon grass [Cymbopogon citratus] with tulips was placed on the main cross of the Seventh Station. At 10 in the morning Saint Paul was carried to the church, accompanied by very few people.
He was carried in the counterclockwise direction, passing the Sixth Station, the Fifth, etc. Upon arriving at the Second Station, they came to an arch of palms with ribbons and colored kerchiefs hanging from the top. On the other side of the arch was a group carrying La Soledad, waiting for the arrival of St. Paul. La Soledad was dressed in a lily colored tunic, a white turban, and carried a bouquet of pink flowers.
The two images met beneath the arch. St. Paul tilted so that his head rested first on her left shoulder and then on her right shoulder. St. Paul continues towards the church and passes beneath the arch. She turns around and passes another time beneath the arch, following St. Paul.
The box is still in the church, and the images are placed in the following orientation (‘above’ [on the page] equals the back of the church):
San Pablo | Le Soledad |
La caja | El Rosario |
The women prayed, the president of the Chapel gave a brief sermon; then they left, some of them first kissing the heart of the Cross (placed on the floor on one side of the church).
