People frequently visit on Saturdays, Sundays and during holy week. They usually bring fruit, or whatever little present, which is reciprocated right away, or whenever possible. When bananas are harvested people bring a bunch to their friends or their compadres. Sometimes the man visits alone, at times with the whole family come, or if he should be occupied, he sends his wife.

Some people don’t want to live in the actual town, next to other people, because they have to worry about animals that disappear from time to time (due to robbery).

There is a great deal of communication amongst the people who live in town. Men congregate in the stores or in the town hall. For young people it is the same, or in the galleries (open sheds). Women gather at the religious ceremonies. Wakes or work parties permit lots of contact. In the evenings neighbors chat. The well is another important place.
