Pigs are sold in San Martín or Ixcatlán. They are fattened for sale. Turkeys and chickens are almost only killed for work parties and fiestas.

Honey sells for $40 per can. High-quality wax is $10 per kilo, and low quality wax is $5 per kilo. “Royal honey” (wild honey, see above, under the first listing of animals) is sold at $2 per quarter (kilo).

Many people sell their pigs at three months, $40 for a female, $70 for a male. Many pigs are sold at five months when they begin to eat a great deal. A large, castrated pig sells for $1,500. A mule goes for the same.

In Jalapa almost all the pigs have died due to a disease. Here almost all of the hens have died.
