While Arcadio Servín was weighing a sack of corn, the seller put his hand on the scale to give it more weight. Arcadio noted this and told the young man. He removed his hand and they concluded the sale in a friendly manner.

A youngster from Jalapa wanted to buy a pig from Ambrosio Jiménez. Ambrosio set the price at $350, and the young man offered $275. The two were discontented with each other’s price and in the end the young man left without buying the pig. Ambrosio told me later that the pig was worth $300.
